Instagram web_profile_info Explorer
Type a username to see exactly what Instagram's web_profile_info endpoint returns: every field labeled, explained, and shown as raw JSON.
How it works
- Type a public Instagram username.
- We fetch the same public profile fields Instagram's own web client loads through web_profile_info.
- See each field labeled and explained, with the full response as raw JSON underneath.
What you see and why
web_profile_info (full path /api/v1/users/web_profile_info/) is the internal request Instagram's own web client uses to load a public profile. It is not a documented public API: its shape, headers and access requirements can change without notice, and logged-out requests are increasingly met with login walls.
This page fetches the same public profile fields through GramScraper's managed endpoint and lays out the response: username, name, bio, link, follower/following/post counts, verification, privacy and business status, category and profile picture. Each field below is labeled with what it means, and the raw object is shown underneath so you can see the exact shape.
Questions
What is the web_profile_info endpoint?
It's the internal request Instagram's web client (instagram.com) calls to load a public profile page. It can return useful profile fields, but it's unofficial, undocumented and can change or start requiring a session at any time.
Is this the same data web_profile_info returns?
The fields map to the same public profile data: username, name, bio, link, follower/following/post counts, verification, privacy, business status, category and profile picture. This page fetches them through a managed endpoint instead of Instagram's internal one, so it keeps working when Instagram changes the internal request.
Why does calling web_profile_info directly often fail?
It's built for Instagram's own web client, not outside developers. Missing headers, cookies or session state, or a request pattern Instagram's anti-automation systems don't like, can all return an error or a login wall with no warning.
Can I get this as an API for my own code?
Yes. The GramScraper Profile API returns the same fields as structured JSON, 1 credit per lookup, with 100 free credits on signup and no subscription.
