Instagram Reels Engagement Calculator
Reels reach people who don't follow the account, so this measures engagement against views, not followers.
How it works
- Type a public Instagram username.
- We fetch the latest reels with their view, like and comment counts.
- See engagement by views, average views, and how far reels reach beyond the follower count.
How we calculate it
Engagement by views = total (likes + comments) ÷ total views × 100, across the latest reels that report a view count. We also show average views per reel and views per follower: above 1 means reels regularly reach more people than follow the account.
As a rough guide, 1.5% to 5% is typical for engagement by views. This is our working range, not an industry standard.
Questions
Why measure reels against views instead of followers?
Instagram shows reels to people who don't follow the account, so followers say little about who saw them. Views are the real audience.
What is a good reels engagement rate?
Roughly 1.5% to 5% of views as likes and comments. Above that, viewers are unusually engaged.
Why do some reels show no rate?
Reels with hidden or missing view counts are shown but not counted.
Can I pull reels data through an API?
Yes. GramScraper returns reels with play, like and comment counts: 2 credits for the first page, 1 per page after.
